Questions Abot WOL
« on: February 21, 2013, 06:23:51 PM »

I was wondering if the WOL featuresin PCC will work for any hardwireed PC on the network or does PCC need to be installed on these machines for it to work?

It has been a while since I played with the wol settings. ::) :`)
Wol stands for wake on lan meaning the pc is powered up via a Lan conection with a magic packet sent to it.
There are very few wireless cards that have this feature so a hard wired connection is most likely needed.

As for the other WOL settings in PCC
All of the PCs here had/have PCC installed however one has only lan settings configured and it is wireless connected.
I can turn off all PCs on my lan but not turn them all on(only ones connected wireless fail)
PCC needs to be running and I beleive connected to X10relayer to get the full features of the WOL settings
