CM17A Support
« on: September 01, 2012, 12:56:34 PM »

Hi,
Does PCC support the CM17A (Firecracker) at all?  I would MUCH rather use that than the CM15A.  The 15 doesnt seem to "reach" all my modules but I have the module that repeats the CM17A signal and that reaches my whole house (using Active Home Vista).  If PCC supports the CM17A how do I make that work?  If not, Will there be support for it in PCC in the near future?

Thanks

PCC doesn't support the cm17 (firecracker) but does support the cm19 (firecracker).
X10 states the SDK will work with the CM17 however I haven't been able to get it working with it.
The cm17 and cm19 require a tm751 or simular device to put RF signals back on the power line.
It is possible to have the cm15 send RF to these devices. I do this myself for problem areas.

If I remember correctly the cm17 is one way the cm19 is 2 way which has more range.
PCC may see support for the cm17 at some point but unless X10 improves the SDK it is unlikely. :(
