How are you utilizing SmartCloud?
« on: December 28, 2017, 08:18:22 AM »

I original created SmartCloud to allow Google Home control of my X10 system.
I did test Alexa with it but have since designated Alexa to HA-Bridge
I can't test Cortana here as Microsoft hasn't released the Home control addition here in Canada yet. However since Samsung SmartThings skill is avail able for Cortana I'm 99% confident it will work with it.
Since I use both Alexa and Google Home I currently have SmartCloud interfacing with Alex10.
I have ran it as a standalone app but I liked the aspect of Alex10 displaying x10 device status. ;>

From poll results It appears I'm the only one actualy using this. ::) :`)
Since moving my google mini to the kitchen it seldom gets used for HA any more.
Cortana has picked up HA control from my office now.
Since this is needed for X10 conrol from Google home and Cortana I may abandon using Alex10 and the HA-Bridge. The bridge is getting to bloated trying to support other software and Alexa will work with smartcloud.

How does cortina work? What do I need to do use my laptop or desk top? Cm 15 still needs to be connected to pc. Wish wm100 could handle this and work with Alexa or have a independent voice control.

To get Cortana to work you need to activate her.
Click on the Cortana icon then open to the notebook and click on connected home then enable connected home.
there also is a Cortana app in the Google app store that will enable here on your phone and then sync the two. this way reminders on your phone also get sent to your PC.

your Cm 15 still needs to be connected to the PC (for now)
