X10 Hardware Draws.
« on: November 15, 2015, 02:57:12 PM »

Sadly I can no longer afford to keep the forum going with out additional support.
I've asked for donations for the forum and software I've created which have helped till now.
Now I have to get creative, if unsuccessful the forum will fold. (cB)

For everyone who donates $10 your name will be added to a draw for a North American X10 module.
Every additional $10 donation will give you an additional chance.
This years (2019) module will be the choice of a WM100 or a CM15A.
Simply click on the link and filling in the Pay Pal donation form Forum Support
Besides being entered in for the current hardware draw donators will be granted full forum access regardless of post count.
However I can't grant you full access with out you registering for an account and knowing your username.
They also will be given the opportunity to suggest the next module offered.
Draw for the module will be Dec 30th 2019
Good luck

Thank you for your help in getting my CM15a up and running again but do not enter me in the draw, give it to someone else.
Some background:  I am 80+ and have been using X10 since the late 1960's.  I was a Beta tester for the CM11a and an early adopter for the CM15a.  We have relied on Macros and Times to light stairs and bedrooms since we moved into this 2 level house some 30years ago. When the batteries died in the CM15a and the Netbook I used for AHPro was gone I turned to your Forum for help.  LifeJacket got me a running AHP on my new laptop (latest Windows 10 64bit) but all was not well. AHP assigned wrong units to my old lamp modules and my old Soft Start units did not work well, in addition no Timers worked!  I edited all lamp modules, put 5 sec delays around the old Soft Start and used "Run As Administrator" on AHP.  Too many changes at once to know what was really needed! So I now have a running system again and a satisfied (70++) wife!  Oh, I have also ordered some "modern" lamp modues.  Thank you.

I'm glad I was able to get you backup and running!
I found I needed to move AHP out off the Program Files(x86) folder to get by the newer security parameters of Win 10 64bit. Changing the permissions only moderately helped.
I also found some of my setting reverted after a few Windows restarts or updates.
However Windows updates have caused issues with my AHP setup in the past as far back as XP.
Time will tell if moving the folder will solve Windows Update issues (CZB)

Recent issues with the forum have required me to dip into my savings to keep the forum running. For my help developing the WM100 (x10 wifi module) I received an extra one
which I had planed to use at my off grid place.
Instead I decided to offer it as an incentive for users to help keep the forum a float with a donation.
I've updated my OP to reflect this. I realize many donated in the past and didn't wish to be in on the draw so if this is the case please state this with your donation. It helps at draw time.
I'll update the time till draw link shortly. done!
for those that donate please include your forum username So I can update your status many have registered with a different email then they use for pay pal.
Just makes things simpler for me!

Last years donation count was much lower then expected and I had to dip into my pocket to help cover cost of maintaining the forum. :( This year (2019) I've decided to stretch the time for the full year before I make the draw. Also the winner will have the choice of a WM100 or Cm15A. :)!
