How do I setup Ultralight?
« on: January 28, 2015, 02:31:11 PM »

Answer
Ultra light has a default username and password
Username is: Root
Password is: ultralight

Starting with PCC 4.0.5.2 Ultralight reads the settings xml file in PCC
Go to the settings page scroll over to Plug-ins & Network Settings
Scroll down to Ultralight Companion settings
Click run Ultra from this PC this will make the configuration options for Ultra visible and tells PCC to listen.
Change the port to what ever you wish or use the default
Change the user name and password
Click save and reload or close PCC
Now go to your browser and type in the IP and port of ultra eg: http://127.0.0.1:45687
The log in screen should now appear
Note: once you change the info in PCC the defaults will no longer work.

If you've configured the settings in PCC.
restart your PC to be sure all settings get saved and Ultra isn't running.
Click on ultra to start it.
in your browser type in http://127.0.0.1:(the port configured in PCC)
press enter
That should start Ultra at the log in screen.
here you type in the username and password set in PCC.

if you didn't enter info in PCC you use the default info.
Start Ultra then click on the link http://127.0.0.1:51042
Note: this must be done from the PC running ultra the link won't work from another PC

Once  ultra is running and you have verified from the PC running it you can access from another PC using the IP of the PC with Ultra running and that port.
You don't need to leave the browser open on the pc with ultra running.

tuicemen I don't know what is going on but I can't get the login web page to open sense I updated to the new pc companion and the new ultra at least with the old one I could get two the login page. I have tried everything that you said to try with no luck as you could see from the screen shots I sent you everything looked good in settings. I tried changing the port like you said to try tried refresh I just don't get it.

have you tried another browser (firefox, chrome) I had issues with IE giving me the same.
Also make sure that Ultra is indeed running, it doesn't start when PCC starts.
Go to task manager and look for javaw.exe and kill all instances of it.
Then restart Ultra
Also some antivirus programs will stop it from loading
I had setup ultra to load on start up but Avast didn't like that
Windows firewall can also give you a hassle if a port is already in use.
Windows 7 and 8 may require a URL reservation to be created but I haven't seen that here.
