Windows 10 ready?
« on: January 27, 2015, 03:16:50 PM »

After reading Microsoft plans to offer Windows 10 as a free upgrade for existing Windows 7 &8.1 users  I figured I best look into testing PCC on it.
I down loaded the free prerelease of Windows 10 (32bit) and installed it on my Thin client.
Yes it did install on that old Atom 166GHZ system. `:)
I was curious as the the look of the new windows and was surprised to see it kept all my files and programs.
AHP even stayed registered. `:)
Since I have PCC in a beta test right now I figured I may need to tweak something.
This wasn't the case. PCC ran fine and I connected to Ultralight (the web server for PCC) without a problem. `:)
So looks like I won't need to add any thing new for this to work on Windows 10!

I started to notice issues with setting saves in windows 7 if installed to the program files folder.
this got worse in 8 and even more so in windows 10.
for this reason the installer will now try to install to C:\PcCompanion and not the C:\Program Files\PcCompanion folder.
I've only been testing the 32 bit OS but in the past noticed this issue with the 64 bit OS even more so.
