New SR731?
« on: April 23, 2014, 04:00:03 PM »

Inside scoop is these may make a come back.
The new owner of X10 thinks they may be worth while if they can manufacture them cheap enough.
Though not having owned one I don't even know what they originally went for.
I posted some questions at JVDE X10 forum
I couldn't dig up much info on these other then on the x10wiki

Looks like these could be on the market shortly.
These newer units far out perform the old units both in range and reliability so I'm told.
These will work with security modules too.

A device like that with "improved range" could make the keychain remotes more user friendly and expand applications.  eg. when rolling home thru my back gate in my golf cart (in the dark after a couple beers on men's nite), it would be nice to be able to turn on the lights in my back yard, as well as a couple in the lower level of my house.  Currently I use sensors and WGL, but sensors can be tripped accidentally with neighbours letting dogs into their back yards etc. - so I currently limit the lighting to a timed sequence on the under-deck lamp.

Cool - I'll attach one of my keychain remotes to my golf cart key, and await your review.  Only about 45 days left in golf season though, so it looks like I'll have plenty of time to fiddle (AKA be creative) over winter with potential applications.

I think winter months is when most of us fiddle ;>
I know that seems to be the only time I have to play (cB)

I have two of these repeaters being shipped. :0~
That should allow me some test for extra range and test possible collision issues when using more then one in a setup.
I should have these within a week or 2 baring postal issues. `:)

I was happy when this module was released.  Helped increased the range of the Keyfobs that I use with the the SC1200 security system.
