Need help on Idea for IR and PCC between two PC's
« on: March 06, 2013, 07:39:36 PM »

Hi guys,

Here is my scenario,   I have the PCC server in my office and a client in my bedroom that both have a USBUirt connected to them.  The issue that I am having is that the TV in my office and the TV in my bedroom are the same make and model.  So I am having issues with my IR sends, when I turn off the office TV it turns on my bedroom TV and vice versa.  Is there any way that I can only have one PC respond to the send as opposed to both.  I would like to be able to control both of them from a user created command but separately.   :`)

Would it be possible to create a user command on each PC that sends the IR but for instance on the one on the server not have it trigger the IR send.  I need all of the usercreated commands to be send from the server, because I use this PC to interact between Ihouse and Nitrogen Logic software that I want to control some of the IR events.   ::)

I really appreciate your input on this

Not sure if this will work but give it a shot.
Make a usercommand on the server name it the same as the one on the other client in it just have PCC say something.
On the client have it do your TV functions
Now when you call the user command the server will just speak but the client will perform the task.
An other option would be to use the conditions and just have different conditions (time for execution maybe) in the usercommand on the server verses the one in your bedroom.
Just a thought! ;>

OK T,

That is a great idea and I tried it but the usercommad is not being sent to the client  :`)  I am wondering if it is with the x10relayer issues we have been working on, because I can't get any user commands to be relayed to the clients   ???

Another idea would be to use your Kinect to set clear flags with a user command.
Then the command could be set to only trip if the flag was set when Kinect seen the room was occupied
PCC has 100 flags for conditions.
A x10 motion sensor could also be used for this however the Kinect would be better.

I did get it working,

here is what I did I installed the Kinect remote program on the other PCC clients that way I made a different user command on each client for the room that the TV is in.  with the user command names different PCC doesn't repeat the signal on other clients or the server   The Ir commands are the same just the names are different
