Hi,
I have been using X10 stuff since the 90s.
Mostly simple stuff to switch on/off lights, my custom barking dog
and digital clock to record when the mailman comes.
I have a CM11a which works ok.
I would like to get a copy of the log file so that I can parse it.

Thanks to Tuicemen for this forum.

Tuicemen,
  Thanks for the reply.
Sorry for delayed post, the notify for this forum works differently than what I am
accustomed.
I am using Active Home (XP 32 bit desktop).
I bought the CM11a from thex10shop.com and they provided a link to
Active Home:
files.buyitsellit.com/8181/CM11A_ActiveHome_Setup_primary.exe

Now that I look at that URL, it looks rather unprofessional   :-(

From my viewpoint it appears there is a small army of people working on a bewildering
number of tools.
Can you direct me to a tool that records PLC events in a text file that
I can later parse?   I can see the PLC events in the AH popup, but I cannot find
any text file.

Active Home and Active Home Pro (AHP) are two different animals.
AHP was designed for the Cm15 but later added support for the CM11,CM19, and CM17.
AHP will save the activity monitor to a txt file though it is meant to be a html document I believe
Most of the apps users create for X10 use the SDK which was also designed for the CM15.
Most have some sort of logging built in.
However you may not wish a full blown program just so you can pares a text file.
PCC will save info to a text file
As will most of the x10 programs I created.
You may wish to check the thirdparty software section on the X10 forum http://forums.x10.com/index.php?board=36.0
A link to something small slips my mind but you may find one there.

I have been using X10 many years .. All my PC's with the registered version have retired some time ago.  Now I want to get it working again and I am sure that with all the interest that remains with X10 I'll be able to get it working again.  Again looking forward to start reading as much as I can from this forum ..
Regards,
Larry

Hi,

Been a long time X10 user.  Now that the company has changed, and I got a new computer, all searches for fixes sent me here.

Thanks for all your help.

Windows 64 bit has been an issue with AHP starting with Windows 7.
I personally never had issues until I updated to 10.

Most of my issues were resolved by moving the AHP folder to C:\ActiveHome Pro and not having it inside C:\program files (x86)\
You may also try running it as administrator.

Hi,
Be playing with x10 for about 20 years, hell of a ride. Now sort of retried but still make a few $ doing small jobs for electronic repair and design of items for unusual use. Last project was for a CNG compressor.

Ron

Hi, Thanks for the forum and your activities. After a long absence, I installed AHP on a new computer, have old installation/registration numbers but no means to register. CM15 can be seen and updated but it does not activate the modules. I assume this is because the registration has not been completed. May try the European SW if I can find it or search for other cures.
