Hello to everyone. I'm a long-time ActiveHome and X-10 user starting with several ActiveHome starter kits (cm11a + lamp + appliance+ tv remote) and more recently the CM15A when I got tired of trying to interact with my cm11a via USB to Serial converters.  I have AHP installed on two laptops (Acer AOD150 (XP), Acer 1810T (7x64)) and was trying to install in on my new laptop (Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro (8.1->10 ASAP!) when I ran into the "cannot find server" issue which brought me eventually to this thread.

Any suggestions would be welcome!

Welcome aboard.
Read the AHP Lifejacket thread and you will be able to install and register AHP on your new PC

I have been reading this forum for a few years, but never had anything to contribute until now, so I just joined.

I have been using X-10 since about 1980 and have used 3 different computer interfaces over the years.

I gave up on X-10 when I upgraded my PC from XP-Pro to Windows 7-Pro and found that I could no longer maintain my numerous macros.

Checking back here from time to time I tried various options but none got me back to where I had been.

I was about to take out all my X-10 stuff and find a modern solution, but I checked back here one last time and found what looked like a real solution.

It did not exactly work the first or second time, but I finally got it totally working.

My point in posting here was to thank Tuicemen (and others) for the incredible amount of work that has been done to salvage the product, and to post my work-arounds to the published instructions that finally got everything exactly right for me.

I will post details under the proper thread.

Thanks again.

Ken

Thanks for hosting this forum!  I have been a long time user of the X10 Systems from the days prior to the CM11 all the way through the CM15.  I just recently had to set up a new PC for my X10 - Just installed the 3.318 AHP Version found on this board and am looking to get my add-ons registered with the LifeJacket!  Thanks again for all the hard work that has gone into this effort!

Welcome aboard Dennis.
I'll keep this board running as long as funds permit. However the info can also be found on the X10 forum.

Hello
I have been using x10 for 15 years or so and was very disappointed to learn of the demise of the company. It seems there are still lots of product available but the software end is lacking, that is why I am here. I like all of the different things that can be done with x10. I am getting ready to set up Christmas lighting for the first time at my new house

Authinx Inc. Is the new owner of the X10 products.
You are going to see great new stuff like the X10 RF Repeater and a Wi-Fi unit is in late testing and early production.
They have also updated some of the modules with things like AGC and stronger power line transmitters. They even changed the part number of a new switch so you can tell the new one from the one it replaced. Unlike X10WTI that changed things Didn't change the part number or even tell user of the change.

Welcome Aboard mrfix65.
As Brian stated X10 isn't dead!
It has totally new owners in fact they use to handle just the x10 pro line.
They have only just started to update and improve old modules and have a few new ones to improve reliability for us with the older modules.
