New PiX10Hub on Buster.
« on: December 19, 2019, 12:33:49 PM »

I've started work on a new PiX10Hub image.
This is specially designed for the Raspberry Pi Zero W boards and uses the latest Raspbian Buster OS.
Like the original Stretch version it will include the latest HA-Bridge and HomeGenie builds.
My hope is to have this ready prior to Christmas 2019.
I've created a few addon programs for HomeGenie and plan to include some of these.

The image is almost ready just writing and shrinking now then I'll do a build and run test prior to release.
This image has besides some of my older HG program, my new programs for DuckDns, Weather Alerts, and Broadlinks included.
I've also included some simple  X10 security Console arm and disarm programs which will allow users to auto arm, disarm their X10 security console on timers or use Alexa to do so.

DuckDns will call duckdns.org every 5 mins and using your info check and update your DNS IP.

Weather Alerter will allow you to trigger any HG configured device based of weather conditions. (temperature, humidity, wind speed, precipitation, ....)

Broadlink Finder will detect and display the Broadlink info of a network connected broadlink required for the Broadlink Sender.
the BroadlinkSender allows you to turn on off a RF or IR device from HG directly.

I've started work on a script to install the PiX10Hub to any PI running any version of Raspbian OS. Users won't be limited to using the lite build of the OS though I recommend it.
I'll make the script available on the forum here as well as the X10 Forum in hopes end users will expand on it and keep it and the software it uses up to date.
If anyone is interested in testing this PM me with what Pi board you have.

I believe  I have a installer ready for alfa testing. I only have a pi 3b+ and Zero W boards to test the installer on.  I can confirm it works on a Buster raspi  lite build on a pi 3b+. I'll next test on a Buster full desktop raspi build on the 3b+.

I can confirm the installer works with the Buster full desktop.I was a little concerned with maybe the newer java not being compatible  but everything looks good.

I've  done creating the X10HUB  installer, however I can't  consider relesing this without someone else at least looking over the code(bash script).
I can only test this with a pi Zero w or pi 3b+.

I now have a SD image ready for any pi board ready.
I've confirmed it to work on a pi ZeroW and 3B+ board and it is as close to plug and play as I think I can make it, without knowing ones wifi and location info.
I'd like to get some others with different Pi board models to try this out prior to posting the link if you have  a different pi board then what I've listed and wish to give this a test run let me know and I'll send you a link. the SD image includes a modified version of the Any Pi installer script to make install a bit quicker.
