X10 Power user module
« on: September 30, 2018, 04:05:47 PM »

Authinx seems to be very interested in my work with embedding a PI Zero W in a CM15A
The owner has stated that it would be possible to create something along this line with an improved CM15 with better PLC and RF.
The WM100 was never designed to be used by a x10 power user I keep being told.
So what is your take on this?
If I can convince Authinx to produce this should it be created so the end user can just pop in a Zero or Zero W with SD card and the end user decide what OS and Software to use?
I'm thinking this can be done with out having to do any modifications or soldering.
Or should it be produced ready to go?
Should SD cards be made available separately with a OS already install?
If Authinx has to create software for this it would drive up the price.
There are a number of X10 capable softwares available for a Linux system which this will run on already out there. Should this be made to work with the nolonger supported AHP software if no Pi is installed?

I realize there are so many other SBC options out there however few would fit in the existing CM15 case.
If you'd think a different SBC would be better suited post a link to it and I can check it out.
It is hard to beat the price of the Pi Zeros but they are limited to one mini USB port with out an expansion board.
It may be possible to include this or allow for that option.
