Alexa fails to discover devices.
« on: March 29, 2018, 03:07:11 PM »

This is becoming a more & more frequent event for me.
Luckily when the app shows the devices as off line I still can control them with Alexa.
Sad thing is this is most likely going to result in several falsely labelled defective echo device returns. ::) :`)

AWS has had issues in the past with discovery (not just bridge items)
However be sure your firewall is setup correctly for Java as that is the main reason Alexa doesn't discover devices. Also be sure your PC has a static IP.
For me discovery works better later in the day and between 4-6 pm
