Can Alex10 be shared with an Echo dot and Echo Show
« on: December 22, 2017, 05:53:56 PM »

Hi T, I have an echo dot 2 gen that is talking nicely with Alex10. My problem is, Recently I bought an Echo show and would like to add Alex10. Is this possible? It doesnt see Alex10, I uninstall/reinstall Alex 10 several times but no luck. I added a new device and right away echo dot sees it but not the echo show. I even tried adding a device and let the echo show search it first before adding it to echo dot but no luck. Please Help thanks

This is an issue with the HA-Bridge which Alex10 uses as a hue emulator.
I know there was an issue with the second gen echo but that has been fixed with the latest update. You might wish to check the issues which you can do from the Bridges web interface and selecting help.
If you don't see any thing related you may wish to post there.
Does the show see a newly added device when you ask it to discover devices?

Ok the issue is the show and the way it looks for things. Can you enable a skill with it ? Do you have any smart devices that arent X10?

Yup The Show does/can enable the same skill that the Dot has. Oh one thing I forgot to mention. The accts on the Show and Dot are Different. I'll try them on the same acct. I'll let you know the result.
