Recommendation
« on: August 19, 2016, 02:19:28 PM »

I know this is a wide open question but here goes anyway.
What recommendation would you make to someone like myself that has used Active home pro with a CM15 every since that hardware came out and whatever the one before it was (CM11 I think) to get back to the point at which we were before X10.com disappeared ?
I should mention that I do have one laptop that was and is still activated from X10 with the original software including macros activation. It is definitely time for this laptop to move on and active home is all it is getting used for.
I ask this because it is obvious that you guys have been on this path much longer than I have and I resist reinventing wheels !

Currently there are three methods of using AHP on a new PC
1:Download and install the Marmetic (EU) version
2:Download and install the North American version and run it unregistered.
3:Download and install the North American version then download run the free AHP lifejacket (see that thread for details) to register AHP and your (or the default) plugins.
Note: all links are available and can be found from this forum.

There are also several third party softwares for the cm11 and cm15 however none currently will upload to the cm15.
Many of these add several features not available with AHP.

Thanks so much for the reply.
I was surprised however that you did not mention the AHP Vista software that has been getting so much attention recently.
Are you familiar with that software and if so do you have any opinion about it ?

Active Home Vista is not an X10 program.
It is a freeware program from a third party software author.
It does not support all the functions of a CM15A. It will not download timers and macros into a CM15A. That run even when the computer is off.

There are so many third party softwares available it is impossible for me to mention them all so I didn't mention AHP Vista.
Many aren't even supported (actively updated)since X10wti went belly up.
